So it's four more years of Obama but what did he really achieve in the last four years? I would say not much. Forget the economy as he inherited the mess and not much he could do about that but what else has he done. Obamacare, what a disaster that is. The USA spends more as a percentage of GDP on healthcare than any other country in the world, yet healthcare is not free for all in fact it is still really expensive. I don't really believe that governments should get involved in individual citizens business but free education and free healthcare for all is a must to give each person the same chances in life. (What they do with that life is their business but at least they get the opportuntity)
The best thing I can say about Obama is he is not Mitt Romney. Are these really the two best candidates American can come up with? Apparently so but then again does it really matter. The machine behind the President does not change so how much influence can he really have.

ReplyDeletegive him time. it takes two terms for any president to make his mark. the first term is to learn about the mechanics of lobbying and horse trading and building alliances with an eye to securing your 2nd term so no drastic actions; so that in the 2nd term, which he got now, he can call in favours, that will pass legislature that will further his pet causes. this is the time when he can make his mark on history. so we shall need to reserve judgement of his time in office till after he has left it.
America has a genius little document called the Declaration of Independence AND another amazing document called the United States Constitution.

Now, you're obviously incredibly naive about America...and life really, and about as green as one can be in terms of political understanding. Remember that America is arguably the greatest country on the face of the planet because the right to the above referenced freedom is bestowed upon the ppl by god...it doesn't matter if you believe in god or not and it has nothing to do with a christian god or muslim god or whatever god; but it is important that it was established in such a fashion so that no *man* can take away what god has given...understand? No other country has such a document. No other country guarantees the ppl such a right or such a freedom.
When you start thinking that the gov't's responsibility is to provide education and healthcare to the ppl to give them a "fair chance", you interfere with natural selection--survival of the fittest, which is to indicate that natural selection is a great means to ensure that the more motivated/strongest, smartest--best, really...are able to proceed forward. By meddling, you voluntarily and willingly sacrifice the rights & freedoms afforded to you to pursue your own happiness as per the above. In short, you are--metaphorically, fucking yourself in the ass. That's becoming an enormous problem these days in the West where generations of ppl consider they are entitled to something because they don't have it while others do have it...redistribution is all good for nobody.

Consider that the last three presidents of the US have all served two terms each...that's nearly a quarter of a century (when Obama's 2nd term is completed) of US history under the leadership of only three(03) men...that should tell you about the ppl voting(or not in some cases) and the direction they want the country to progress.
