1st Indian in Qatar with a Legal Driver's licence

Antony Masla today became the first Indian driver in the State of Qatar to legally obtain his drivers licence after taking the driving test a record 264 times.
Antony whose previous driving experience was a cow (5 ltr, milk)in Uttar Pradesh now has the keys to a Toyota LC for his employers.
Bungling reporter and part time pervert Sheik Midick of the Gulf-Penisular caught up with Antony on his first ever legal drive. 'Like every other Indian in Qatar I had been driving for 12 years without a licence or instruction but I wanted that clear plastic licence to show my family back home that I made it. It took me a while to realise that nudging other cars out of the way was unacceptable and would lead to failure after failure at the driving school. When we rode cows it was ok but now I accept cars are different beasts'
When we inquired if there was any downside to having a legal driving licence Antony responded, 'some of my old friends shun me now as they think I have become to good for them, but I'm still the same guy that changes lanes randomly and when he parks I park over the parking lines not between them. I say look at my vehicle, look at the scratches that has not changed! The other thing is all these points on my licence. I'm not sure what they are for, can I exchange them for rotis at Lulu?'
On contacting the traffic police for comment they proudly stated that they have now issued 3 driving licences for Indians, one to a Pakistani who unfortunately has now left the country and 4 to the Nepalese one of which is now the highest qualified person in his country. The Traffic Police Chief added that they have not stopped there and hope to have at least 20 qualified drivers on the road by the end of 2022 at least.

SJWs Protest at Rampant Islamophobia in Iran

Following a week of street protests in many cities in Iran, social justice warriors in the west have taken to their keyboards in unprecedented numbers to attack the Islamophobia shown by the protesters against the legitimate government of the Islamic State of Iran.

American SJW extraordinaire, Linda Sarsour was quick to launch a blistering twitter attack on the protesters and when asked for comment had this to say, "This is what happens when Trump is President of the US, attacks on Muslims just increase around the world. Ayatollah Khameni and his Iranian Republican Guard are just good Muslims doing their best for the Iranian people. These protesters do not understand Islam and are blatantly Islamophobic with their demand for the end to clerical rule. Do they not know that under Sharia that women have a special place and that the hijab law in Iran is their to protect them? Trump must take the blame for inciting this violence and should give refugee status to members of the Iranian Government and Iranian Republican Guard suffering from Islamophobia"

Other prominent SJWs jumping on the bandwagon also tweeted, this from CJ Werleman, 'This is what the New Atheists have brought with their anti Islamic rhetoric, chaos and disorder, legitimizing Islamophobia in one of the most peaceful countries on earth." He continued, "We must fight those that seek to demonise Islam and condemn these protesters as the tools of western foreign policy"

LivingfreeinQatar reached out to some of the protesters for their response to the charge of Islamophobia. One person who wished to remain anonymous said, 'It's all very well for these people living in their nice houses, with expensive iPhones, free speech, rights protected by the constitution who have freedom of religion to accuse us of Islamophobia but if they like it so much, let them come to Iran and I will go and live in America. It's funny how they complain so much about the intolerance of the west and dream about living in an Islamic state but never, not even once, just visit these places. In fact I'll take their job, how much does a SJW get paid?"

So there you have it, SJWs using their favorite tool of Twitter to proclaim their liberal, human rights credentials while undermining those seeking freedom from oppression overseas. However at the end of the day, being a SJW gets you fame and a good salary and we all need to earn a living right?

World Confused by Alabama

In the first time in recorded history something happened in Alabama that was noticed by the rest of the world. The election campaign for a seat in the Senate was one of the most bizarre in American election history and that comes from a country that elected Donald Trump as President.

Sampling views from around the world, livingfreeinqatar found confusion and disbelief on the state of American Democracy. Tim O'Tommy from the UK commented, "There I was watching the ten O'clock news on the wonderful BBC and they ran a small piece on the state election in Alabama, which appeared to be between a racist pedophile and someone who was not a racist pedophile. Now imagine my surprise when this was a simple choice for the voters of Alabama that the race itself was actually quite close. So shocked was I, I had to pour another cup of tea from my Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee tea pot and stroke my mustache in a disapproving manner. I'll also be cancelling my subscription to National Geographic in protest'.

Majid from Pakistan was equally confused, 'I know in my country marrying a 14 year old girl or harassing girls outside a school is not considered a hindrance to high office, in fact it is considered a prerequisite, but we all believed America democracy was different. They TOLD us it was different. We were told we were the racist, anti Semitic pedophiles when all along they lived in a place called Alabama and the extremist Christians voted for them! I am so disgusted at such a backward country I am withdrawing my green card application right away but I still love Mickey Mouse"

Our final contributor was Shane Bigtool from Australia, 'Alabama? Isn't that a mythical place in a song by Lynard Skynard, where the skies are so blue? They made it sound so good, strewth mate, now you tell me that it's inhabited by people living in 1858 who couldn't give a dingo's arse about the black fellas. Even down in Strayla we let them roam free and only consider the sheilas fair game after 16 years of age. You're telling me Americans are going to vote for a man who does't give his fellow man a fair crack of the whip and has a liking for little girls? Jees, that's pretty fucked up"

Egyptian Man Finally Stops Talking

In what has been claimed as a new world record, an Egyptian man in the finance department of QP finally stopped talking in a meeting after 8 hours and 34 minutes, when he boss in desperation shouted out, 'Can you just get to the fucking point!'

Anil from Kerala, (not India) who was present at the meeting witness this remarkable feat, 'The room was booked for one hour to discuss the budget for Qatar National celebrations but then Mohamed started talking and talking and talking. First it was just general greetings, then he asked about everyone's family without waiting for an answer, then he told us a story about how his brother in Cairo is having a hard time financially and that we should offer him a job, because he is really, really good and he said he is not saying that because it is his brother but because it was true. At one point he stopped to take a breath and the chair of the meeting was about to get us back on track, but then Mohamed started a monologue about how he had been in Qatar for over 23 years and he had personally been involved in every single great achievement in Qatar during that time, this was the bulk of the 8 hours and 34 minutes of non-stop talking. To be honest I didn't mind as I got to book an extra two hours overtime and I don't like my family anyway'

LivingfreeinQatar blog reached out to Mohamed for comment and he was surprised he had set a new record in Qatar. Mohamed went on the record to say, 'A new record for Qatar? Yanni, in Egypt this would be considered a warm up. I once attended a meeting at my cousins company in Alexandra when he spoke for 34 hours and 2 minutes non-stop and not one single decision was agreed upon. His company went bankrupt shortly afterwards and some said it was because of the lack of productivity, but I know it was a Zionist plot against hard working Arabs. As for my role in QP I like to see myself as the man that brings everyone together, the glue if you will between all nations and I know in my heart no one likes silence. Even the annoying Indian guy, Anil enjoys my meetings as he gets to book overtime and his own contribution is to shake his head at random times and smile at our Qatari boss."

Our incredulous reporter asked him if he plans to speak less about nothing and actually get to the point in future, Mohamed replied, 'What to do yanni? Sometimes I have no idea what the meeting is about but I don't want people to realise so I just start talking, I think it makes me look important. Anyway my home life is a mess and my wife won't let me get a word in, she and her mother once had a conversation that lasted 6 days, 12 hours and 25 minutes and consisted of absolutely nothing"

When QP was approached for comment on whether they would celebrate this new record a company spokesman said, 'Look we only hire Egyptians to fill up a quota and they fill in the periods of silence when no one has anything meaningful to say"

Doha News to become a Glamour Magazine

In what has been a turbulent couple of years for Doha News with website being blocked in Qatar and it's sale to Indian Poppadom Factory, more starting news has emerged. Doha News will relaunch itself as Qatar's newest, blandest Glamour Magazine focusing on all the people you avoid when visiting 5 star hotels in Doha. This news has been welcomed by the Qatar Government.

A spokesman who declined to be named was quoted as saying, "We did like Doha News, until we didn't, so we see ourselves as full supporters of this new initiative. When Doha News originally came on the scene, we were like, wow, we are so progressive, looks at us with our open media and transparency, forward looking new age media platform and everything, but then they started publishing stories we didn't like. We thought everyone knew the rules in Qatar and this shocked us. Some of the stuff they published was even the truth. However now Doha News is going back to it's roots, we look forward to seeing articles such as 'Me and my pet Cheetah and how we donate to the homeless' and 'Overdone make up Lebanese lady who acts like a princess, prancing around the Four Seasons', you know, good quality GCC journalism"

The new owners from their shrimp farm in Kerala are more than delighted to take on this ambitious project, 'We want to show the brunch scene at the Ritz Carlton like it has never been seen before. Glossary pictures of ladies in expensive dresses with tags that say things like, 'wow! she's dressed to impress' and 'She would not look out of place in Bollywood'"

When asked by our intrepid reporter, will there be stories on the critical issues in Qatar today, he was met with a firm response, "of course! We will report on the new chapati shop in Najma, the Doha Kaabadi championships and Vijay's argument with his neighbor over the cricket in full color 2 page article"

When our dashing reporter stated that, 'All these are Indian stories and not relevant to the majority of the expat population', he was quick to dismiss us explaining he had an urgent meeting with his cousin who was busy photographing men on the beach at the Grand Hyatt for a story about bodybuilding and nothing to do with gay men hanging out

Saudi Arabia Government Wins Hypocrites of the Year for 10th Straight Year

Despite intense competition worldwide for this prized UN Accolade, Saudi Arabia's well experienced Administration again came out first for this prestigious award.

MBS in Geneva to collect the award spoke to the media, "We are proud that again we have been recognised as the most hypocritical government in the world for a 10th straight year. Of course we kept doing the usual things of preaching a strict form of Islam in the Kingdom while enjoying ourselves in London with alcohol, girls, gambling and outrageous spending but we realised with the emergence of the Trump Presidency we had to pull out all the stops. So first I devised a plan to accuse Qatar of supporting terrorism, while ignoring Saudi's long standing role in funding and supporting extremist groups around the world, (my father did giggle at that one) and then I preceded to lock up all my rich opponents on the basis of '"corruption" while spending $450 million on a dubious Da Vinci and $500 million on a yacht I liked the look off"

When questioned by Al Arabia Al Enquirer on how he obtained this ridiculous amount of money and what job he had apart from being 'Prince', MBS fired back;

"All my wealth was obtained legally and in the correct manner, anyone who disagrees can avail themselves of a free stay at the Ritz Carlton, Riyadh until they come to the correct answer."

President Trump was obviously disappointed and furious at not being selected for this award; "This is a big mistake, bigly, truly bigly. I'm making America great again but my hypocrisy levels are off the chart. I've been great and this committee has got it all wrong, how can I top introducing a travel ban on countries that had no connection with Islamic terrorism on American soil but leave off the countries whose citizens were directly involved? This is great policy and great hypocrisy. I've taken healthcare away from Americans and still managed to tell them its good for them, I've supported the gun lobby despite Americans dying like flies in a tar pit and I've supported the peace process massively by relocation the US Embassy to Jerusalem. Obama could not touch my level of great, bigly hypocrisy. Now I have to go, President is always busy making great deals and I must support a pedophile for the Senate"

Israel the Schoolyard Bully

If we needed more reasons why religion poisons societies Israel serves us up a juicy meal time and time again. To defend their Jewishness they feel it necessary to terrorise and possibly even eradicate their neighbours in a display of disproportional show of force. Yes Hamas fire crappy rockets into Israel and Israel are quite good at stopping them, but the response and the murder of Palestinians is outrageous. F16s against basically villagers? In humane, like shooting fish in a barrel.

The other point about Gaza is the people there have no where to go. In Iraq you can move to a different part of the country if it gets too dangerous or maybe head to a refugee camp in another country. In Gaza you do not have that option, you can't make it to Israel as they won't let you in, same for Egypt. In Gaza there is no safe place either, it's far too small.

America must share some of the shame of Israel. They are not killing anyone but they are providing the bullets. Nothing justifies the slaughter happening right now.

You would have thought that a people like the Jews would have learnt from 2000 years of persecution from Arabia to Europe but it seems the only lesson they have learned is to kill. Luckily this does not apply to all Jews, many around the world are appalled by the actions of Israel and rightly so.

When will it end?

This weeks guest shouter

As Ramadan is in full swing in the Muslim worlds, the worlds mosque are gearing up for a season of extreme shouting for Fridays prays. Rich mosques import guest shouters to enthral and entertain the faithful. One such guest shouter Mahmoud Sisi the Sissy, has recently been employed in Saudi. 'I work all year for this, I ease of the shisha and the whisky so I can give a 20 minute hell and damnation to my spectators. I build up to the eyes bulging, spit induced frenzy to impose fear in all around me. By the time I'm finished I've convinced them all they are going to hell. It really helps with the zakat, which of course I get a 20% take off.'

When asked did he think he was cashing in on the period of the year people felt most spiritual, he did show some repentance. 'I was upset when one man committed suicide, as if he wanted to kill himself he should have done it in martyrdom, but I did manage a 20 minute rant at his dead body for the sake of my audience.'

This man showed no fear during the interview, except when asked who he thought was the best shouter in world Islam. 'It's my grandmother. She scares the shit out of me. Thank Allah, women are not allowed in male mosques or I'll be out of job'

Qatar 2022 Plans to Replicate Brazil Experience

Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee has pledge to recreate the experience of the host national of Brazil at the hugely successful 2014 WC. Having sent 23,409 observers they believe they have the blueprint to follow to out do Brazil.

Speaking to Head of Public Relations and Shwarma Availability, Mr Hamad Al Shaker it became obvious they would succeed in their plans, 'after attending the Brazil, Germany semi final we knew we could out do them. The fans watched 7-1 but we believe we can deliver 8-1 or even 10-0 and we will not wait until the semi finals to do it. We believe strongly that the Qatar National Team could deliver goals galore to the watching public as early as the group stages.'

It was pointed out by our start struck reporter who has minimal knowledge of football that the idea of football is to score more goals than the opposition, the Head of The Qatari FA and Minister of Camel Grooming jumped in, 'what would you know' he snorted. 'Everyone knows Brazil is the best football nation in the world and what they do is copied by every other nation. Please be gone from my office, next you will advise me on camel grooming you fool'

Our intrepid reporter left and met the German ambassador for his response. 'It is there country and they are free to do what they wish, I guess I should book the victory parade for 2022 now, sigh'

What Muslims should be angry about?

Good article, not written by me but worth a repost. Don't let the mullahs or imams hijack your faith to control you. You can think for yourself.

http://www.thecommentator.com/article/1888/what_muslims_should_actually_be_angry_about

In this age of riots, murders, and embassy lynchings over YouTube videos, teddy bears, and cartoons, it is worth highlighting the politicised, selective, and hypocritical nature of such Islamist-inspired fury. There are many things that should offend those who are seemingly shocked by benign and ignorable mockery of religion. These include:
- The systematic destruction of Islam's heritage in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. Since the Saudi royal family conquered the Hijaz region, mausoleums, mosques, grave yards, and other significant buildings connected to the history of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad and his companions have been bulldozed to make way for motorways, shopping centres and five star hotels.
- The fact that the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) in Pakistan continue to blow up girls’ schools and violently attack young teenage girls for wanting to attend them.
- The systematic persecution of Ahmedis, Shias, Christians, Hindus, and other minorities in Pakistan who, if not being accused of blasphemy, are being hunted down by thugs claiming to be inspired by Islam.
- The destruction and vandalism visited upon the ancient city of Timbukto. Since the al-Qaeda affiliated Ansar al Dine took over the city, mosques have been attacked, mausoleums raided, and other holy sites destroyed, including tombs of great saints.
- The systematic and widespread practise of female genital mutilation (FGM) that Muslim clerics in North and East Africa defend and promote. A practise that is vile, disgusting, inhumane, and recognised as such around the world.
- The hysterical anti-Semitism that emanates from pulpits all over the Middle East. A form of bigotry that is largely accepted and rarely goes challenged.
- The destruction of Buddist temples and Christian churches in Indonesia that has increased since Islamist parties have begun to make gains in South East Asia.
- The destruction of the Bamiyan statues in Afghanistan by the Taliban, statues that stood for hundreds of years and held great significance for Buddhists around the world.
These are the grievances that should inspire protests and anger but alas they are ignored in favour of ones that can be attributed to the evil West and Israel, however fictitious and spurious the linkages.
The selective nature of the outrage thus points to a much deeper malaise infecting the minds of the faithful. A political narrative is at the heart of this and it is a narrative that provides simple answers, deflection, and solace at a time when the faithful should be doing some long overdue soul-searching and confronting their own shortcomings.
Gravitation towards a grievance and victimhood culture is the easy option because it doesn't compel Muslims to ask the difficult questions such as why we preside over some of the most corrupt, unequal, sexist, dysfunctional, and authoritarian societies on earth.
Instead, Islamist parties, seeking to galvanise the masses behind their apocalyptic message, encourage Muslims to look west and seek answers in the foreign policies of the US and the UK. Unfortunately, many Western leftists also encourage this defeatist and self-deprecating trend in the vain hope that it supports their cause.
The primary victims of this phenomenon are Muslims themselves who are left dis-empowered and undermine their own agency by placing all responsibility elsewhere. The winners are Islamists and Jihadists who continue to wage war against art, culture, women, and vulnerable minorities, safe in the knowledge that most Muslims are distracted by their obsession with the next Danish cartoon or American YouTube clip.
It is not easy to initiate rational conversation in such a context – ask those who have tried.

Crazy news from around the world - Malaysia

The fact that it even got to a court of law is crazy, then on top of that the court says certain groups cannot use a word is even crazier still. My favourite bit in the article is they are worried Muslims might convert to Christianity because Christians in Malaysia use the word Allah. Wow, they must be pretty stupid people to fall for that old trick but aren't they supposed to be worshipping the same god anyway?

Human stupidity knows no bounds.

Malaysia court rules non-Muslims cannot use 'Allah'

Muslim demonstrators chant slogans outside Malaysia's Court of Appeal in Putrajaya, outside Kuala Lumpur 14 October 2013The court case has sparked debate in Muslim-majority Malaysia

Related Stories

A Malaysian court has ruled that non-Muslims cannot use the word Allah to refer to God, even in their own faiths, overturning a 2009 lower court ruling.
The appeals court said the term Allah must be exclusive to Islam or it could cause public disorder.
People of all faiths use the word Allah in Malay to refer to their Gods.
Christians argue they have used the word, which entered Malay from Arabic, to refer to their God for centuries and that the ruling violates their rights.
One Malaysian Christian woman said the ruling would affect the community greatly.

Analysis

The verdict does not come as a surprise to the two million Christians in Malaysia. Many of them believe that the case stems from a tight race between the governing Malay-Muslim party, UMNO, and the opposition Islamic party, PAS.
The Allah ban is seen as an attempt by UMNO to boost its Islamic credentials and win back votes. It's an issue that crops up in the government-linked media ahead of an election and promptly dwindles after the vote.
Christians are so convinced that this issue is about political posturing that most followers say they will continue to use the offending Bibles and use the word Allah in their worship.
Not all Muslims back the ban. But one of the most outspoken supporters is an influential group called Perkasa, which is backed by former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad - a champion of Malay-Muslim rights.
"If we are prohibited from using the word Allah then we have to re-translate the whole Bible, if it comes to that," Ester Moiji from Sabah state told the BBC.
'Disappointed and dismayed'
The 2009 ruling sparked tensions, with churches and mosques attacked.
It came after the government said that a Catholic newspaper, The Herald, could not use the word in its Malay-language edition to describe the Christian God.
The newspaper sued, and a court ruled in their favour in December 2009. The government then launched an appeal.
Upholding the appeal on Monday, chief judge Mohamed Apandi Ali said: "The usage of the word Allah is not an integral part of the faith in Christianity. The usage of the word will cause confusion in the community."
The Herald editor Reverend Lawrence Andrew said he was "disappointed and dismayed", and would appeal against the decision.
"It is a retrograde step in the development of law in relation to the fundamental liberty of religious minorities," he said.
The newspaper's supporters have argued that Malay-language Bibles have used Allah to refer to the Christian God since before Malaysia was formed as a federal state in 1963.
"Allah is a term in the Middle East and in Indonesia it is a term both for Christians and Muslims. You cannot say that in all of the sudden it is not an integral part. Malay language is a language that has many borrowed words, Allah also is a borrowed word."
However, some Muslim groups have said that the Christian use of the word Allah could be used to encourage Muslims to convert to Christianity.
Editor of Catholic Newspaper The Herald Lawrence Andrew: 'God is an integral part of every religion'
"Allah is not a Malay word. If they [non-Muslims] say they want to use a Malay word they should use Tuhan instead of Allah," Zainul Rijal Abu Bakar, a lawyer representing the government, told the BBC.
Dozens of churches and a few Muslim prayer halls were attacked and burned in the wake of the 2009 ruling, highlighting the intensity of feeling about issues of ethnicity and faith in Malaysia.
Some Malaysians believe the governing Malay-Muslim party is using the case to boost its Islamic credentials among voters, the BBC's Jennifer Pak reports from outside the court in Putrajaya.
Malay Muslims make up almost two-thirds of the country's population, but there are large Hindu and Christian communities.
Prime Minister Najib Razak's coalition won elections in May, but it was the coalition's worst result in more than half a century in power.

Sense of perspective

It is a tragedy a young British girl lost her life in Qatar, it seems that she was murdered but we do not know all the facts yet. We need a sense of perspective, this was not an example of Qataris murdering expats, it's was just some bad people doing bad things. We can only hope they are caught and punish appropriately. Remember only a few years ago a young Qatari was killed in the UK, this does not mean all British people are murdering bastards who hate foreigners. It just means some idiots got in a fight and the consequences are tragic. The two cases are slightly different in what happen, but all we should look for now is justice for Lauren Patterson not unwarranted attacks against Qatari people

---------

Police have made a number of arrests over the suspected murder of a British primary school teacher last seen outside a five-star hotel in Qatar.
Lauren Patterson, 24, vanished in the early hours on Saturday in the Gulf state's capital Doha. Her body was found in the desert, according to The Times newspaper.
The cause of her death and the location where the body was found have not been confirmed by authorities.
The Qatar Interior Ministry said in a statement: "The police have arrested the suspects. The case has been referred to public prosecution."
Her mother Allison Patterson has flown to Doha and vowed to "fight for justice".
The 48-year-old told the Daily Mail it had been "extremely stressful" waiting for forensic results to confirm the body was her daughter's.

She said: "Lauren was a wonderful young woman who was having the time of her life in Doha. She had made so many friends.

Look no gays!

After a minister in Kuwait proposed medical checks for homosexuals as part for the expat residence process it posed a few questions for me. How will they detect gays? Hang around the supermarkets and see which men buy quiche? (of course we all know real men do not eat quiche). Ask at immigration whether they have a penchant for interior design or work in film or media? (Especially reality shows)

All very confusing and also this only targets men, lesbians are not really considered gay in the Middle East.

This brings me to my last point, it is probably easier for homosexuals to blend in here than anywhere else. You can walk down the street holding hands, kiss on the check, do nose kissing and spend all your time in the company of men and no one will say a word. So if you will a gay paradise.

Me thinks the Kuwait minister is not so much trying to bar gays from the Middle East but make it easier to identify them so men in the gulf don't have to waste time on sussing out who to approach....

Qatar migrant workers S&M fetish

After the furore regarding the Guardian's article on the treatment of low paid Asian migrant workers in Qatar, the Qatar government has responded with its on PR offensive. In fact according to the Qatar government spokesman Abdulla Al Serious, the migrant workers come precisely because they are treated badly.

"These workers especially those from Nepal are S&M lovers and cannot find the pain and humiliation in their own country they crave, but this is where the accommodating employers of Qatar come in. In exchange for building high rise towers, roads and secret desert knocking shops we treat them like the scum they deserve, I mean want to be. Some people would say this is I humane but these people cannot get what they want in their own country due to 'stupid laws', but we believe in freedom of choice between consenting adults"

Our request to interview one of the Nepalese workers was greeted with enthusiasm in the presence of his employer, however it was hard to ask the questions we wanted while he was being beaten but we continued anyway. Gash Putu had this to say, "I, ow! love it here, ow! Sleeping 20 to a room is awful, ow! I mean it means I am close to my fellow Nepalis so we are like brothers. Even not getting paid is a pleasure as I believe if you do not suffer in life you are not living. Well that is what it says on the entrance to my concentration camp, ow! I mean, luxury accommodation with a gym and hot and cold flowing concubines. Can I go now? Ow!"

The Ambassador for the Nepalese Embassy and government officials from Nepal declined to be interviewed but said off the record that they are pleased to help their fellow Nepalis achieve their perverted dreams and the fact they all own recruitment agencies and receive huge finders fees from companies in Qatar is just a huge coincidence in parallel with their humanitarian work.

The danger of T Shirts

How to stop perceived harassment? Well harass them, treat them like criminals when they have broken no law.

Quite strange and what has gone wrong with the Brits. Heavy handed tactics over what? Terrorism? Someone carrying a gun? Physical violence and threats against other students?

No. T-Shirts. Yes that's right t-shirts. Wearing t shirts has killed so many people in the world obviously so security needs to be called to make sure there are not worn. Utter madness.

LSE student Society intimidated at Freshers' Fair over "offensive" t-shirts
Posted: Fri, 04 Oct 2013 09:45

A row over free expression has broken out at the London School of Economics after members of the LSESU Atheist, Secularist and Humanist Student Society were told they would be physically removed from the annual Freshers' Fair unless they covered up t-shirts deemed "offensive".
Student Union officials removed materials from the LSESU Atheist, Secularist and Humanist Student Society stand and demanded that the group removed t-shirts they were wearing featuring satirical Jesus and Mo cartoons. When asked for an explanation, LSESU officials stated that several students had complained about the t-shirts.
After a period of consultation a member of the LSE Legal and Compliance Team and Head of Security told the members of the Atheist, Secularist and Humanist Society that the wearing of the t-shirts could be considered "harassment", as it could "offend others" by creating an "offensive environment".
After challenging the actions of LSE officials, members of the Society were told they were not behaving in an "orderly and responsible manner". The group eventually complied by covering the t-shirts, but were closely followed by security guards for the remainder of the day.

Qatar buys rights to Papal Conclave

In a stunning move that has shocked the world the Qatar Religious Investment Bureau has bought the rights to electing the next Pope. The deliberations will be moved from the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City and move to Katara in a coup which will have the world's 1.2 billion Catholics glued to their TV sets for the announcement on who will be the next Pope.

Following on from winning the rights to hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup and from the annual Doha Tribeca Film Festival, this move is surely going to put Qatar even more in the spotlight than before. It is rumoured Qatar has spend 2 billion dollars buying the rights to this event, although both the Vatican and QRIB deny the figure is that high.

The move has attracted some criticism saying that Qatar did not play fair when bidding for the rights and used underhand methods to outbid Russia and Somalia for exclusive rights and worldwide TV broadcasts.

All criticism was brushed aside by the spokesman for QRIB, Sheik Jean Paul Al Holy III, “This is just a few individuals and old countries jealous of the important steps Qatar is making in its development. They don’t believe an Arab country has the right to hold such an important event and to do it right. We will prove them wrong that this small country has a big heart and takes electing the next Pope very seriously.’

When questioned further on what Qatar can bring to the Papal Conclave, Sheik Al Holy III was bursting with pride, “we will replace the traditional smoke from the chimney with the British Red Arrows flying over the Corniche to announce the result, red smoke for a successor has been chosen and black smoke for no result. We haven’t decided yet what to do for a draw but apparently the Cardinals are too old to take part in a penalty shoot out. “

So for the first time in over 1000 years the decision to elect the new Pope will not take place in the Vatican but in Qatar and it was further confirmed that whoever the successful candidate is will be given an apartment on the Pearl, a liquor licence and will have a 5 year sponsorship contract with Ooreedoo. Imagine the robes coloured red with the logo on the back and the front during Easter mass/

Rumours that Qatar will put forward their own candidate have been denied.

Pope, "business as usual"

As Pope Benedict announced his resignation he quickly moved to reassure the faithful and those employees of the church. 'A new Pope does not mean we will forget our old friends or have a rapid change in policy. We will still follow the same homophobic, sexist, condom hating rhetoric we have always done, we will just hire a better PR man. Hey when it worked for the last 1000 years why change?'

'As for the employees of the church, we will not forsake you. We will defend you from those vicious children who seek to bring down the church and if it gets to hot for you in your own country and the police come calling, just phone123666123, preist relocation service and you will be whisked away to another country that is happy to turn a blind eye to the Catholic Church and its doings.'

An insider at the Vatican claimed this could be the biggest corporate reshuffle since the church was awarded exclusive rights to misogyny, homophobia, inquisitions and mass blind following in 150 from the Roman Empire. 'Of course we are against condoms he said, the Muslims are outbreeding us and although they do a good job of killing other Muslims we are worried about our market share and the best way of keeping ahead is getting them young, as conversion is harder to do, especially with people having access,to education and now are thinking for themselves.'

Egypt at a Turning Point

Is this the point where Egypt's revolution turns into a disaster? Have the Egyptians just replaced one dictator with another? This time it could be worse with a religious dictatorship similar to Iran taking hold. Men in power always say these measures are temporary to protect the people but what happens is always the opposite. The people are oppressed, minorities persecuted and everyone lives in fear. Egypt is an important, pivotal country in the Arab world and for it to be consumed in a one man religious dictatorship is a disaster not just for Egyptians but also their neighbours. Pray to whatever god you have that this man will and can be stopped, otherwise the future dos not look good.

The office of Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi has said that the decree giving him sweeping new powers is temporary and not intended to concentrate power in his hands.
Mr Mursi was committed to finding "common ground" with other parties. He will meet senior judges on Monday.
The decree was intended to prevent democratically elected bodies from being undermined, the statement said.
Thursday's decree led to angry protests and a big stock market fall.
Clashes continued on Sunday, with police firing tear gas in the Tahrir Square area, and large demonstrations are planned by supporters and opponents of Mr Mursi on Tuesday.
On Saturday the Judges Club, which represents judges throughout the country, called for a nationwide strike in protest at the decree.
But top judicial body the Supreme Judicial Council appeared not to reject the decree outright, saying it should only apply to "sovereign matters", and urged judges to return to work.
Justice Minister Ahmed Mekky has begun efforts to mediate between the president and the judges.
The minister said he himself had some reservations about the president's decree, Reuters reported.
'Committed to engage'
The BBC's Jon Leyne in Cairo says Mr Mursi has begun efforts to reach a compromise after the strong opposition to his decree.
A statement by the presidency attempted to calm opposition concerns that he was becoming increasingly dictatorial in his leadership.
"The presidency reiterates the temporary nature of those measures, which are not intended to concentrate power, but to avoid ... attempts to undermine democratically elected bodies and preserve the impartiality of the judiciary," the statement said.
Mr Mursi said he was committed to engaging all political forces to reach common ground on the constitution.
Later local media reported that he would meet the Supreme Judicial Council on Monday to discuss the decree.
But several prominent opposition leaders, including Nobel Peace Prize winner Mohamed elBaradei, have said they will not engage in dialogue with the president until he rescinds the measure, known as the constitutional declaration.
According to President Mursi's decree, announced on Thursday, no authority can revoke presidential decisions.
There is also a bar on judges dissolving the assembly, which is drawing up a new constitution.
Mr Mursi sacked chief prosecutor Abdel Maguid Mahmoud, who was first appointed by ex-President Hosni Mubarak.
Mr Mahmoud's replacement, Talaat Ibrahim, has been given the job of re-examining all investigations into the deaths of protesters when Mr Mubarak was in power.

Indian Meat Eaters Commit Sex Crimes

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I read this one. Deceiving impressionable children in lies such as this is disgusting. It's obviously to further someone's agenda and the expense of Indian kids getting a real education. Education should be about facts, enquiry, testing theories and allowing young minds to chew though the facts and decide for themselves. Not for brainwashing, pushing supernatural or dubious theories.  Messing with a child's education affects them for life and is one of humanities greatest crimes.

Academics have urged the government to exercise greater control.

But the authorities say schools should monitor content as they are responsible for the choice of textbooks.

"The government has the power to take action, but they are washing their hands of it," she said.
It is not known which Indian schools have bought the book for their students, but correspondents say what is worrying is that such a book is available to students.
"The strongest argument that meat is not essential food is the fact that the Creator of this Universe did not include meat in the original diet for Adam and Eve. He gave them fruits, nuts and vegetables," reads a chapter entitled Do We Need Flesh Food?
The chapter details the "benefits" of a vegetarian diet and goes on to list "some of the characteristics" found among non-vegetarians.
"They easily cheat, tell lies, forget promises, they are dishonest and tell bad words, steal, fight and turn to violence and commit sex crimes," it says.
The chapter, full of factual inaccuracies, refers to Eskimos (Inuit) as "lazy, sluggish and short-lived", because they live on "a diet largely of meat".
It adds: "The Arabs who helped in constructing the Suez Canal lived on wheat and dates and were superior to the beef-fed Englishmen engaged in the same work."
The publishers, S Chand, did not respond to the BBC's requests for a comment.
